About iSchool Initiative

Organically founded by Travis Allen in late 2009, iSchool Initiative was formed to address the educational issues facing students nationwide.

After receiving an Apple iPhone for Christmas, Allen recognized the potential mobile devices had in education and tried using his iPhone as a learning tool. Allen, a senior in high school, met resistance from his teachers and was instructed to stop using his “cellphone”. Frustrated with the limitations surrounding technology, Allen formed a concept around mobile learning and dedicated his career to revolutionizing education.

During his freshman year at Kennesaw State University (KSU), Allen discovered Enactus, an organization whose slogan is "A head for business, a heart for the world." With the help of Enactus Advisor, Dr. Gary Robert, Allen's idea blossomed into a fully functioning non-profit organization and began to disrupt the educational space.

Since its inception, the iSchool Initiative team has expanded to 11 full-time team members and made appearances at many prestigious events worldwide, including a recent invitation to a White House Data Initiative. iSchool Initiative continues to support the movement for change in education as a leader of the Digital Learning Revolution.
